Maybe! As with any other Indian bread it depends on how you make it. If you add lots of ghee and butter on the roti then there is a good chance that you will end up gaining more weight and not losing it. I would advice you to make roti using a direct flame and avoid using any type of oil. Baking or grilling the roti is the best option. my grandmother always makes rotis over the pen flame and this reduces the need for any oil or ghee like substance. You might be able to lose some weight if you do things like this.

Besan roti is ideal diet food for weight loss but make sure oil or ghee content in the food. Mix some coriander leaves or mints or any green leafy to besan roti to increase the nutrients.
Yes, I do agree, besan helps in weight loss. it is rich in protein. Have in cheela form mixed with vegetables. However, the person suffering from acid reflux might face some problem.
