I know a person who did. My uncle used to weigh around 85 kilos and he started climbing up and down the stairway of his flat. That is a whopping 13 floors. Yes I said 13. He climbed 13 climbed floors on a daily basis and he lost around 12 kilos. I kid you not, I could barely recognize him after that. Climbing the staircase will take a lot out of the body and you will several calories. And the best part is, it's completely free. You don't have to worry about gym membership fees or anything like that. :)

    Hi Chinmay,
Yes, you can reduce weight by climbing stairs regularly. But if you have knee, ankle or hip joint pain, then it is better that you opt for some other option for fat loss. As these exercise would put more pressure on your weight bearing joints. Otherwise its really a great exercise to burn more calories in less time. A normal weighting individual would burn approx 315 calories by climbing stairs for 30 min.
