    To burn fats and build muscles you need to do following things-
    # Eat healthy. Rather than consuming foods that are rich in fat and carbohydrates, opt for a leaner and more wholesome diet. Substitute fruits and vegetables for cookies and potatoes. Go for leaner meats, such as chicken, instead of beef.
    #Instead of white bread and pasta, choose whole-grain products. These dietary changes will help you reduce your fat intake, which will support weight loss and muscle development.
    # Drink lots of water. Make it a point to carry a water bottle with you every day, and focus on drinking it. Water will keep you hydrated and full. You will find that you will feel less hungry because the water is keeping you satiated.
    # Set up an exercise plan. Meet with a personal trainer at your gym to discuss your goals. Explain to the trainer what you would like to accomplish, and have him develop a workout plan suited specifically for you.
    # In order to lose weight, it is essential to do cardio. Running, brisk walking and aerobics are all forms of cardio exercise. Cardio elevates your heart rate and burns calories. It is a key component of weight loss. Remember that you have to pace yourself and work your way up. You must increase your level of cardio as you progress, or you will plateau.
    # It is likely that your trainer will explain to you how important weight training is. Cardio will help you get in better shape and drop the pounds, but you need to work out with weights to help muscles develop.Do all these exercise in proper guidence only will help you to achieve the target.

    Hi Nandini,
    Burning Fat and building muscles are both different things. Many people think that with exercises one can convert fat into muscles but its not possible. To burn fat you need to focus on aerobic exercises like walking, running, swimming, jogging, hiking etc. Along with exercise take care of diet as directed by Priyanka. To gain muscles you need to go for progressive resistance training using weights, therabands, toning tubes etc. When you are on resistance training, you diet should be rich in protein. Since you want to burn fat and gain muscles you need to plan your exercise regime and diet accordingly.

    Hey Nandini,
    To loose fat and gain muscle mass, you need to have a balanced programme of healthy diet and regular exercises. Do 45 min of cardio activities like brisk walking, jogging, running , etc while include alternate days of hard core weight training exercises to build muscle mass. Cardio activities would help to normalize down your body fat percentage while weight training exercises would help to increase the muscle mass. Also, avoid junk food items and late night dinners as our metabolism slows down during night.
