losing weight and gaining muscles and strength

Hi, my age is 43, I weigh 88kgs and 5 feet 9 inches in height. I used to exercise earlier, but gave up in between. I have joined gym again and i develop muscles quite fast, but don't lose much weight from my belly. Mt daily diet from last 3 years is as below:
I have 2 bananas, dry fruits (pistas, almonds, raisins, walnuts and dates along with a mug of milk containing honey and a pinch of powdered saffron) at 06:00hrs before going to work. A week back at approximately 10:00hrs, I have started having an apple, pear, peach and orange each. Between 12:30hrs - 13:00hrs I have my lunch which is home made and mostly veg along with 2 chappatis. I finish my workout around 19:30hrs and have green salad (lettuce, carrot and cucumber) with salad dressing mixed with low fat yoghurt and olive oil or sometimes have veg food along with 1 or 2 chappatis. Before going to bed i have a mug of warm milk. Please advise if this diet is good or I need to change my diet and what should it be. I want to lose weight from unwanted places, gain good muscles and stamina.

    Hi Motabhai

Its nice that you following good diet & exercise. Small changes in your diet pattern Avoid banana, rasins ,pistas, honey which is high in calories. Drink warm water with lemon(without sugar, honey, salt) in the morning. Make a habit of taking warm water after every meals. In salad include sprouts, onion , capsicum. Avoid salad dressing(if its is cream or mayonnaise). Eat more of proteins foods like nuts(almonds, walnuts),whole grains, egg white, fish, sprouts, etc. Continue your gym workout as well as do some pushup, tummy exercise for 20 mins.

Thanks for your quick reply Sujeetha, sorry I could not respond earlier as was very busy and had travelled on vacation.
One or two questions more hope you don't mind
1)I was told that honey is good and instead of sugar add a spoon of honey.
2)With regards to sprouts you mean the green moong to be soaked and after draining the water let small roots appear. if that is the case then do i have to boil it or have it raw with my salad.
    3) Can i have a mug of milk with oats and one banana half an hour before my exrcise. As I have been told that it gives stamina and power to work out.

    Hi Motabhai

1.Of course, honey is better than sugar but calories high in honey so better avoid it.
    2. In sprouts you can take moong sprouts or black chana, if you like to eat in raw then you can have with lemon drops, pepper, vegetables mix , etc. Even boiled sprouts like curry form or boiled with onion also you can eat.
    3. Before exercise you should eat very lite like fruits but avoid banana, drink plenty of water or veg juices or buttermilk or skimmed milk.
