Add at least 500 calories per day to your meal than required. If you need 2300 calories per day then make it 2800.

    Hey Supriya,
Its true that to gain weight you need to consume more calories, but consuming only calories wont help you to gain weight. Along with extra caloric diet go for some strengthening exercises to improve muscle mass. Include lot of protein in your diet, as proteins are the building blocks of body. Plan your diet based on your basal metabolic rate, lifestyle and workout so as to ensure appropriate calorie intake to gain weight. Remember, 3500 calories equals 1 pound.

Hey..... To gain weight you have to take in more calories than what you burn per day. You have to remember two things like:
    1. Eat as much food as possible: Taking too much of calories in a day is a way out. The body can only process so much muscle tissue at once, and after it has done so, any remaining calories are simply going to be stored as body fat. Plain and simple. You my friend, are no exception to the rule.
    2. Do alternate days of weight training exercises to increase your muscles mass.
