*Carbon monoxide present in the smoke robs muscles, brain from oxygen making the body especially the heart work harder.
*Emphysema-a disease that slowly rots the lungs occurs due to chronic smoking.People with emphysema often get bronchitis and suffer from lung failure.
*Smoking causes the narrowing of blood vessels, hence leading to heart attack.

    Hi Poonam mitra

There is many affects by smoking , Researchers discovered that the production of a protein(Fanconi Anemia Protein) is slowed when lung cells are exposed to cigarette smoke. Low levels of FANCD2 (Fanconi Anemia Protein) leads to DNA damage, triggering cancer. It reduces concentration, etc.

Smoking causes some 25 ominous diseases and 11 types of cancers. There are more than 4000 chemicals present in tobacco that are harmful to the human body. A smoker can be involved in his own fantasy with feelings of boredom and meaningless thoughts. It kind of hijacks your brain and becomes an addiction.

Smoking in any form is injurious to your health. It will be interesting to know that One in two, lifetime smokers die in their middle age. Smoking can cause the irreversible damage to the lungs.Smoking allows the harmful substances like tobacco, carbon monoxide, tar and other around 4000 substances to enter into the respiratory tract. The most common diseases occur in the lungs due to smoking are lung cancer, bronchial infections, T.B and pneumonia. Cough and excessive mucus production is also a major problem faced by the cigarette smokers. Due to the presence of toxins, the mucus lining cells in the lungs become stimulated and enlarged which produces more amount of mucus. The mucus becomes thickened due to the enlarged cells which lead to decrease in airflow and finally, emphysema. Smoking damages the air sacs or alveoli, the tar deposition starts alveoli to lose their elasticity. With the loss of elasticity the alveoli are not able to expand and contract properly, thus leading to oxygen deficiency and shortness of breath. Eventually, cigarette smoking leads to COPD conditions including lung cancer. Cigarette smoking replaces the normal squamous epithelial cells with the cancerous epithelial cells.
Smoking not only reduces you life span but also affects ones quality of life.
