Yeah it can happen! When you are pregnant you might face problems with indigestion and you are likely to have heart burn problems. This does not happen with all women though. When my daughter was pregnant with their first child she complained from heart burn all the time. Pockets of gas can cause heart burn and make it uncomfortable. In most cases it is not a serious issue and it can be cured just by drinking water. Drinking butter milk also helps to an extent. You can also take some over the counter medications to relieve the symptoms of heart burn.

    Hey Olivia,
Yes, it is absolutely normal to experience heartburn instances during pregnancy. It is like any other sign of pregnancy. The growing uterus leads to constipation, indigestion and other gastric problems. Due to the elevated levels of progesterone hormone in the body during pregnancy, the GIT lining and the smooth muscles of uterus relaxes which slows down the digestion process. This relaxation of the muscles also leads to the back flow of the gastric acid causing irritation and burning sensation in the stomach.
