Childhood obesity nowadays is very common. If not checked on time it may lead to obesity in the adulthood. The causes are lack of outdoor activities and overindulgence on junk foods.Children today are mostly occupied either with their studies or indoor games like video games, play station and cartoon shows on the television.Besides junk foods and fast foods available in the market attract the kids to much extent as a result of these unhealthy habbits they tend to put on weight and hence weigh more than their age and height.Parents should keep a strict check on these unhealthy habits of their children.Kids should be encouraged for outdoor games and activities.Besides there should also be a check on their intake of fast foods and the processed junk foods. They should be encouraged to have healthy foods like fruit and vegetables, milk and milk products in the best form they like.

Good article and agree with what Swati says.. This is a one of the biggest concerns especially in countries like U.S.A and U.K.where there is lot of exposure to children and they make their own choices to opt for all junk food stuff.

    Hi ,
Nice aritcle. One big reason of childhood obesity is inactivity. The video games has takes place of volley ball, basket ball or cricket. Parents thinks that child is safe inside but the kids are becoming more inactive. So i would suggest the parents to encourage your kids to participate in school sports day and encourage them to play out door games. Even parents can play with kids.
