As the word says, Emotion is nothing but a feeling that includes experiences like anger, happiness, love, fear, panic, etc. Emotions are specific reactions to a particular event that are usually of fairly short duration. Mood is a more general feeling such as happiness, sadness, frustration, contentment, or anxiety that lasts for a longer time. Although everyone experiences emotions, scientists do not all agree on what emotions are or how they should be measured or studied. Emotions are complex and have both physical and mental components. Generally researchers agree that emotions have the following parts: subjective feelings, physiological (body) responses, and expressive behavior. Mood is something that you may not express whereas an emotion can be expressed. Also, an expression is something that can happen in a quick amount of time whereas a mood may last longer and may also affect those around you.

Some researchers have said that emotions are a better way of telling about a person's human intelligence rather than his IQ. Emotions are fluctuating energy levels that are responsible for our mental status.
According to a psychologist called Rober Thayer, moods are products of energy and tension.
