Addiction is a disease with psychological, genetic, and psychosocial aspects. The most obvious symptom is that addicts reach a point where they cannot control their own actions. Even when they can see the harm, they continue the compulsive behavior and this is what leads to addiction.

Addiction is a disease based on biological as well as environmental factors. Addiction is not about testing or controlling your will power. Addiction is a chronic disease similar to other chronic diseases such as type II diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.
