    - Identify Your Triggers. - Recognize Hunger Signals. - Limit Trigger Foods. Simply stop stocking your fridge and pantry with the foods you binge on. - Don't Skip Meals. Skipping meals almost always leads to over-eating. - Create Alternatives to Eating. Whether it's a bubble bath or curling up with a good book, planning other activities will help you relax and avoid binges. - Don't Give Up. When you trip up -- because you will (We all do!), don't give up. Forgive yourself and start over the next day. Learning from your mistakes and focusing on the positive will go along way in ensuring your continued weight loss success.

Awareness IS an important part of the solution, but an incomplete one. There are lots of people who are ALREADY AWARE of their emotional eating problems, but they feel unable to stop them. The first step towards freedom from emotional eating is to develop conscious awareness. Your ability to change inappropriate eating behaviors (eating for the wrong reasons), starts with your understanding that you have been unconsciously eating without even realizing it.
Emotional eating is nothing but comfort eating. If you're at the point where you can't resolve the issue, you need to find ways of nurturing yourself and pampering yourself that are not food related. Find a substitute for food and distract yourself with playing an sport, painting or sketching, solve puzzles or play video games, etc.
It is important to understand that this not physical hunger craving but an emotional one.
