First and foremost thing to remember is empty your kitchen or all the hidden areas where you have kept sweets. If you see the sweets in front of you all the time or even if you know that there sweets at home, you will tend to go towards it unknowingly. Try to keep your tummy full even after the meals try and have light snacks or fruits as a healthier option that can also act as sweet. Exercise daily to shed off those extra kilos. Try to eat your sweet dish while you are having your meal, what will happen is your stomach will have feeling of satiety along with your other dishes and hence you will not end up eating more sweets at the end of the meal. Do not skip meals either, that will worsen your cravings. Cut down on the quantity of sweets gradually. Brush your teeth whenever you have a craving for sweets or eat mint or saunf or any mouth fresheners. Distract yourself immediately by doing something else. Fix a timing to have sweet so that you have an association of eating it on at that particular time and no other time is allowed.

Find out if these cravings are just another cravings for food or sweet or is it hinting towards emotional eating. Do not take food or sweets as comfort foods if that is the case. Find out if you are indulging yourself into sweets just because you have to kill time, there is no one around and out of boredom you are eating, because you are feeling lonely and that is the reason you find a friend in the sweets that you dig in. Get rid of all the sweets from home first : '' Remember out of sight is out of mind.''
Avoid places where you know you will get sweets like mithai shops or halwai shops or any other places like bakery shops etc. Drink a lot of water whenever you have cravings so that your stomach is also full and oral craving will also be satisfied. Eat dark or bitter chocolate instead of sweet ones so that cravings are also satisfied and less of sugar intake is also there.
