Oral hygiene is very important. Without strong, healthy teeth, you may lose the ability to eat foods that you enjoy and may be forced to wear dentures in later years. Brushing your teeth is important because it freshens your breadth and eliminates the bacteria. Flossing the teeth removes all the left over and minutes bits of food from the mouth and keeps it clean. You should see your dentist at least once in 6 months for regular oral hygiene check up. If you are not doing the above things there are chances of you developing cavities, root canals, fillings, crowns, dentures, etc. Especially for those who are tobacco chewers and smoking cigarettes may develop oral cancers too.

Taking care of your teeth and gums is also an important part of the personal hygiene. To prevent cavities, you need to remove plaque, the transparent layer of bacteria that coats the teeth. The best way to do this is by brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing at least once a day. Brushing also stimulates the gums, which helps to keep them healthy and prevent gum disease. Brushing and flossing are the most important things that you can do to keep your teeth and gums healthy. After all you don't want to look ugly with a beautiful smile yet wit yellow teeth.. :) So carry a confident smile..
