    Fat is a stored form of energy. The excess calories or the calories which in not consumed by the body due to lack of physical activity gets converted into fat and get stored in various parts of body. Abdomen is the most common site for fat deposition especially in men. Studies reveal that, belly fat is different from the fat anywhere else in the body. It is metabolically active that actually acts like a separate organ and releases some substances into the body that, in excess, can increase the risk of diseases. Thus to get rid of belly fat you need to work on total body fat percentage. Doing aerobic exercises will make you lose fat from the overall body. Strengthening exercise like scissors, double leg reverse crunches, reverse curls and oblique crunches has to be done after aerobic exercises to firm and strengthen the muscles. Yogasanas like hathaasanas and Pilates can also be done. Maintaining a healthy lean protein diet and healthy life style, along with the exercises can help you to reach your goal.

    Men have more tendency for central obesity, where there is excessive accumulation of fat around the abdomen. To get rid of belly fat you need to burn excess calories. As Stuti told you need to work on total body fat percentage. There is no short cut, you have to burn more calories by doing exercises and consume low calorie food so that the caloric balance shifts towards weight loss. I will suggest you to go for aerobic exercises where you will burn more calories along with aerobic exercises add some toning exercises. Also try to lead active lifestyle instead of being sedentary.
