After workout we think that our workout is finished but post workout some points are there which you need ti remember which helps in proper repairing, growth and strength of muscles. So for that you need to do is process called Cooling down and bringing your heart rate to normal. In this process you can do light cardio for 5 minutes which helps in bringing your heart rate to steady pace.which helps in preventing you from feeling of sickness. It is very effective process of cool down.
    # Second thing you can do is stretching.Stretching helps in relaxing your muscles and helps in proper circulation of blood in joints and tissues. And also helps from muscles soreness.you can also do stretching after every exercise.
    # Drink plenty of water as lot of water is loosed during workout which results in dehydrating the body,so its very necessary to be hydrated again. So drink 2-3 glasses of water after work out.
    # After work out you get tired for that it is very necessary to refuel ourselves by having proper food. You should have food rich in complex carbohydrate which will help you to energies frequently and high proteins for the recovery of damaged tissues.you should have something to eat after 15-20 minutes.

    Hi Arundhati,
It would be hard to tell you what to do after your workout, because it depends on various factors like type of exercise you are doing, intensity and the duration of your workout and the most important purpose of your workout like weight loss, weight gain, improving fitness level, maintaining fitness etc. In general you need to end you work out with a cool down exercises. Cool down exercises not only helps in faster recovery but also prevents body from unwanted post workout body stress and many injuries. Duration and type of cool down primarily depends on your workout. But make sure stretching is the part of it. Once you have done with it you can go for some relaxation postures and breathing exercises. Post work out meal is of great importance to restore your body to the pre workout status. Your post work out meal should be rich in carbohydrate which will replace the glycogen stores depleted during the activity. A fast digesting protein like oats, whey protein and other protein shakes which will helps in repairing the wear and tear of tissues. Along with this take care of bodies hydration and electrolytes level. Rehydrate your body with water or juices or some sports drink.

After working out do, 10 min of cool down exercises and have some protein shake if you are doing weight training or have a energy drink . Drink lots of water. Avoid any solid meals for 45 min .
