Ya they are! I wouldn't advise them at all. Many of my clients come to me and enquire about the ankle weights and I tell them the same thing, they are not worth it. Ankles weights are recommended for many wrong activities and this leads to several problems and injuries. Ankles are easy to damage and once the tendon gets damaged it is very difficult to heal. Some professionals use ankle weights but they do it under supervision. If you are an amateur then you lay off them and ask your instructor some or method. Try and use inclined planes instead of ankle weights.

    Hi Nidhi,
Yeah, if ankle weights are too tight putting traction to your ankle joint then it would of course hurt your joints. Better choose for a well cushioned and biomechanically designed ankle weights to avoid these complications
