Staph is the short name for Staphylococcus bacteria. Staph infections are caused by Staphylococcus Aureus. It can live on the skin's surface especially around the mouth, nose, anus and genitals. Many men subject themselves to shaving scars and this can lead to staph infections. To prevent staph infections from occurring, you need to keep your body really clean especially the infected part. Use a good anti-bacterial cream. Wash the area with an antiseptic solution and never use the towel that you used to wipe the infected spot dry on any other part of the body. Wash your hands regularly. See a doctor if required.
