Though it is quite unlikely that allergies occur, Raspberries can, at times cause allergic reactions to certain individuals. Swollen lips, itchiness, hives (eruptions on the skin) running nose, nasal congestion, headaches and stomach pain are some of the symptoms. In case of a severe reaction, it is advised that you see your doctor immediately. It is advisable to consult a doctor who is a specialised practitioner in herbal ailments. In case of pregnancies, avoid raspberries in the raw form. Try having raspberry leaf tea instead. It is very healthy and helps in strengthening the muscles of the uterus. This also helps supposedly in avoiding the side effects associated with pregnancy.

Raspberries contain salicylates, natural chemicals produced by plants. Individuals with allergies to salicylates have sensitivities to fruits such as raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, raisins and tangerines.
Raspberry allergies trigger symptoms such as itching, runny nose, watery eyes and breathing difficulties due to eczema, hives, conjunctivitis, allergic rhinitis and asthma reactions.
