No bowel movement after laxative

Is it normal to experience no bowel movement after laxative?

    Occurrence of bowel movement decreases with age. Normal bowel movement in an adult should be thrice in a day that is twenty one times in a week. But the most common observation is that about 50 percent of the people have is once daily. Abnormality in clearance of bowel movement is medical termed as constipation. Laxative can be food, compounds or drug helps relieving constipation. Laxative is advised to be taken before the meal or after 30-60 minutes, promotes normal bowel movement and relieves from pain. It is normal that the person experiences no bowel movement or painful stool clearance for four to five days. Conventional medication, regular high fiber diet and exercise strengthen digestive systems.
