Calcium is one of the main minerals present in bones along with magnesium, iron and phosphorous. In order to have healthy teeth and bones, calcium intake is very necessary. Bones get stronger during childhood and adolescence. So, as far as possible maximum calcium intake is advised. Women need to boost their calcium intake for the reason that they are more prone to osteoporosis then men. Milk and milk related products are a high source of calcium. But excess cheese, butter and yoghurt are unfortunately high in fat content. A balanced diet is suggested which can consist of a fine balance between plenty of greens, meat and cereals. This too helps in the development of healthy bones.
