It constitutes a major portion of all vital organs like brain, lungs, heart etc. Blood comprises of approx. 82% of water in the form of plasma. Water takes parts in all metabolic functions carried out in body. It serves a function of transportation of various hormones, enzymes, metabolites etc. from one place to other. Excretion of waste, toxins etc. from the body in the form of urine and sweat, thus it. Thermoregulation, water helps in regulating body temperature through perspiration. Lubrication, water is present in the synovial fluids which act as a lubricant between the two joint surfaces to prevent friction. Other than all these bodily functions water plays important role in the prevention of diseases.
