    Energy is a very broad term, when we talk about energy content in food there comes calories. Technically, 1 calorie is the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water 1 degree centigrade. Calories are specifically used to measure energy content in food.A calorie is the unit of Energy.
