Water is essential for digestion as it helps break down the large food particles into smaller molecules for easy absorption into the system. Food contains carbohydrates, proteins and fats which cannot be absorbed by the small intestine and requires to be broken down into smaller sugars, amino acids etc. Water does this work. When our body is well hydrated, digestion is more effective. During digestion water helps produce mucus that allows food to slip easily through the intestines. This helps in avoiding constipation. Water helps speed up the digestion process. Water helps to eliminate waste products from the body. While carbohydrate wastes require less water for their elimination, protein wastes need large amounts to get eliminated through urine. Drinking sufficient water to aid digestion is a must.

    HI Stuti

Water is necessary to help you digest soluble fiber. With the help of water, this fiber dissolves easily and benefits your bowel health by making well-formed, soft stools that are easy to pass.
