Blisters occur in partial thickness burns where the epidermis(outer layer of the skin) is affected.Blister fluid contains substances that retard the healing process and should be removed.Healing,in this case, would occur more rapidly if the skin overlying the blisters is removed and appropriate wound dressing is done. Some topical antimicrobial creams can also be helpful in causing peeling off of the skin.

To treat a burn blister, you first need to identify the severity of the burn. If it looks serious, don't remove any of the clothing, and call for professional medical help. If the burn doesn't look very serious, wash the burn in cool water. Don't use ice, because ice can cause skin damage, and make a burn blister more difficult to identify.
