    Majority of cancers are due to the improper lifestyle.Cancer can be prevented by avoiding carcinogens,adapting a lifestyle or diet that can reduce the affect of cancer causing factors and medical intervention(chemoprevention).Physical inactivity,overweight/obese,smoking tobacco,excess alcohol intake,overexposure to sun(skin cancer) are few of the factors which can lead to cancer.Maintaining a healthy weight and switching to regular exercise,diet modification(increase intake of plant origin diet,avoiding processed food,avoid red meat),smoking and alcohol cessation,proper immunization(HPV,Hepatitis B), regular screening and self examination of mouth,rectum,skin breast,cervix and prostate are the steps which can prevent the cancer or atleast diagnose it at an early stage.

    1. Eating a healthy and balanced diet is very very essential. It reduces risk of cancer, heart diseases and takes care of over all mental health. According to American Cancer Society the diet should consists of :
    5 servings of vegetables and fruits, three servings of whole grains and limiting your consumption of processed foods and meat.
    2. Regular exercise routine is a must. 30 minutes of exercise, 5 days a week will help you control your weight and keep you fit.
    3. Quit smoking!! Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths.
    4. Moderate your consumption of alcohol too. Try to consume less than one drink a day if you are a regular drinker. That will reduce your risk of colon cancer, high blood pressure, strokes, osteoporosis and breast cancer.

    Manasi mentioned points are excellent . Along with that include more of anti-cancer rich foods:

    The best cancer fighting foods include:
    Carotene rich foods like carrots, green vegetables, tomatoes, yams & this include all yellow, orange, red & dark green vegetables, fruits.
    Anti oxidant foods like garlic, onion, broccoli, vitamin C rich foods.
    Steamed cruciferous vegetables like Broccoli, cauliflower, kale, cabbage.
    Protease inhibitors: Beans (especially soy),corn, potatoes, Rice.
    Lignan foods: Flax seeds, walnuts, almonds.
    High fiber foods: whole grain, fruits, vegetables.
    Other cancer fighting foods are apples, berries , brazil nuts, cherries, legumes, orange, pulms, asparagus.
    Raw garlic is more powerful, blend in tomato juice & drink daily which protects cancer.
    By adding above mentioned foods in your diet which helps to protect the cancer.
