Hi Neha,
Height is one of the characteristic features which can add stars to your personality. Your height mainly depends on the genetic makeup of an individual to a large extent and the environmental factors like childhood nutrition, sleep patterns, physical activity etc. Vertical growth becomes static when the long bones stop lengthening due to the closure of growth plate i.e. epiphyseal plates. These growth plate works under the action of growth hormone released by pituitary gland. By the completion of puberty growth plate ceases its activity. Increase in height will not be significant after puberty. An exercise for increasing height mainly focuses spinal column and cartilage .Inversion table, pull ups bars, stationary bicycle, ankle weight etc. stimulates the growth plate and causes lengthening. After puberty increases in height will be caused due to spinal decompression which leads to elongation of the spinal column. Spine stretching exercises causes relaxation of spine and restores the natural fluidity within Intervertebral discs. With aging there is shrinkage of stature due to postural changes, cartilage aging, disc atrophy etc. Spinal stretching, postural correction, low to moderate intensity exercises, swimming, yoga etc. can help in maintaining height of an individual. In case you have cross your puberty and you have too short height you can go for insole elevation to increase height.
