High cholesterol levels in the blood for a longer time may lead to narrowing of the arteries, atherosclerosis, heart attack and brain stroke. The range of blood cholesterol should not exceed 200mg/dl.If its more than that then it needs to be checked.Controlling cholesterol levels is possible by modification of lifestyle and diet.Diet has to be high in fibers low in saturated fats and ofcourse cholesterol.Cholesterol is present in all animal foods,so a modification of what you were having is required to check the cholesterol levels. In animal foods the best foods to have are egg white, white meat like lean chicken ,fish, skimmed milk and its products. All red meats, organ meats, whole milk, cheese, cream, butter, ghee, are dense in cholesterol hence should be completely avoided.

Dietary fiber(whole cereals, whole pulses , vegetables , fruits , sprouts) is very good for lowering the cholesterol, don't limit ur egg intake just avoid yolk part .. egg white is good in protein(twice or thrice a week). Include Omega 3 fatty acids foods like flaxseeds , olive oil , fatty fish , almond ,sunflower seeds , pumpkin seeds, walnuts these are helps to increase good cholesterol. Along with diet exercise is more important to control the cholesterol.
