Anterior Cruciate ligament(ACL) is one of the main stabilising ligament of the knee. The role of ACL is to prevent the forward movement of the tibia on femur. The ACL injury is the most common among the sports persons. The tear in ACL occurs when a twisted force is applied to the knee when the foot is fixed to the ground. It also occurs due to overextending the knee joint.Injured ACL is a threat to the stability of knee joint and in severe cases it can lead to the repair or reconstruction surgery of ACL.

    Hey Deergha,
Lifemojo Expert is right. ACL helps to stabilize your knee joint. It depends on injury degree that may affect your activities level. You need to follow a PRICE protocol for 48-72 hours of injury and then can go for a heat therapy after that.
