Hi, since you say that you routinely get you sleep wake rhythm disturbed by heavy breathing I have some suggestions. Recently I stumbled upon a web site that discusses about a problem called sleep apnea. In this problem there occurs some obstruction or blockage in the breathing airway that causes recurring waking during sleep. There are three types of apnea. But there are proper treatment options to cure this problem. When diagnosed correctly you can be treated and totally be out of the problem. So please contact your physician as soon as possible. The procedure for treatment is called Polysomnography which is available in many medical centers.

    Hey Nandini,
You can opt for yoga in such cases as it would help your breathe to get controlled. It would take some days to months to get its effective on your healvy breathing. You can go for breathing techniques like kapalbhati, anulom- vilom pranayam. It would be more effective if done in morning in fresh air with empty stomach.
