Runners are full of energy and yes what more than fruits can be more helpful for them to regain their lost fitness and energy. Fruits like banana help in preventing dehydration and also they have a lot of energy in them in way of fats. Also there are apples which are anyways good for your health, and then there are oranges which again would provide you with a lot of energy after a run. Also fruit juices are good for regaining energy. Fruits help restoring the body to a normal level. But more than energy drinks I would recommend you have fruits more often.

Although all fruits are healthy, some fruits are better than others for runners. The best fruits for runners include bananas, acai berries, oranges and blueberries. Because of their high potassium content, bananas not only provide fuel for your workout, but also prevent muscle cramps while running. Acai berries originate in the Brazilian rain forests and feature a significant amount of antioxidants. The berries also contain amino-acid complexes that support muscle contraction during exercise. Both blueberries and oranges contain a high vitamin C content, which helps repair muscle damage that might occur while running.
