Neck pain is usually caused by bad postures. People who have spondilitis and spondilosis will also suffer from neck pain frequently. Some neck pain conditions can cause life threatening problems as well. Sudden movements or jerks can cause severe muscle spasms in the neck area. Sometimes you might wake up on the wrong side of the bed and experience bad pain. Neck injuries are common among sports persons, especially those who play sports such as basketball and volleyball. Usually over the counter pain relief medications are sufficient to treat neck aches. If symptoms get worse then visiting a doctor is the best option.
