Various forms of energy drinks with various constituents are available in market. It is very important to select the correct energy drink to optimize your performance without hampering your health. Consuming energy drink which contains electrolytes and glucose can be beneficial by maintaining hydration, electrolytes, and glucoses levels in the body thereby improving performance and safety while exercising. But some energy drinks are loaded with caffeine, sugar, anabolic steroids, stimulants etc. which may pose various side effects like headaches, tremors, nausea, and insomnia, irritability, restlessness and nervousness. The caffeine containing energy drinks can increase your blood pressure and heart. In some cases, this can trigger potentially dangerous changes in heart rhythm .Caffeine is diuretic in nature thus, increasing the risk of dehydration. The sugar in most energy drinks can lead to weight gain in those individual who are physically less active. So before you grab your energy drink please check the contents and go for best one.
