    Advil cough and cold tablets are used to relieve the person from symptoms of cols and cough like headache, body ache, running nose, fever, nasal congestion, etc temporarily. The components include ibuprofen and pseudo ephedrine HCL. Ibuprofen is a (NSAID) non steroidal anti inflammatory drug which inhibits certain chemicals known as prostaglandins which are mediators of pain, fever and inflammation. Whereas pseudo ephedrine HCL acts on the mucosa of the respiratory tract and relieves nasal congestion it also helps in the drainage of the sinus. But these drugs have some side effects so it should not be taken by people with gastric problems, ulcers or pregnant women without medical advice

    @Sarah
    Advil Cold and Sinus tablets contain a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). The active ingredients are Ibuprofen 200mg and pseudoephedrine HCI 30mg. It is recommended for the relief of the symptoms associated with the common cold and infuenza including blocked sinuses.
    It may cause an increased risk of serious and sometimes fatal heart and blood vessel problems (eg, heart attack, stroke). The risk may be greater if you already have heart problems or if you take Advil Cold and Sinus Caplets for a long time. Do not use Advil Cold and Sinus tablets right before or after bypass heart surgery.
