    Hi Avantika

There are three types of carbohydrates are monosaccharide, disaccharides, polysaccharides. Simple carbohydrates are monosaccharide & disaccharides; it is made up of 1-2 sugar molecules. The simplest form of carbohydrates is glucose. Examples for simple carbohydrates are table sugar, sweets are disaccharides sucrose, milk sugar is disaccharides lactose, and refined foods are monosaccharide. Polysaccharides are refer as complex carbohydrates, it is made up of 3 or more than 4 sugar molecules. Complex carbohydrates are rich in starchy & fibers. Eg: fruits, vegetables, whole grains, green leafy.
