There are a lot of things you must do to get yourself prepared for a half marathon and first and foremost thing is to eat right and drink right. You must start your preparation at least a month in advance and always keep your body hydrated. This is especially necessary if you are training on a regular basis. Cut down on all fattening foods during the period of training and eat healthy. Make sure that your body has enough stamina to sustain you through the marathon. High protein diets are a good option and you can include lots of fruits and vegetables in your diet as well.

Along with balanced diet and exercise and proper training and practice, keeping a control on your mind is also equally important. You need to develop a strong mind and will power, an attitude to not give up at any point of time, little bit of time management, deep breathing techniques which will help you when you run the marathon. Keeping a control on your breadths is an important part of running exercise. Practice yoga and meditation to keep yourself stress free because you need to improve on your focus and concentration while you run and nothing should distract you. All the best!!
