    @Manoj

    YOGHURT - It is an industrial dairy product.It is made from pasteurized milk with the help of cultures. It may have only one or two species of bacteria e.g. Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus. It is a smooth, firm, white gel with a characteristic acidic taste.
    It can be stored for 15 days without spoilage.

    CURD - It is a popular fermented dairy product from India. It is similar to yoghurt however it can be made at home with boiled milk & a little left over curd. It has over fifty different bacterias which aid digestion and metabolization. It has a different texture & taste. It is less acidic and has a clean buttery flavor.
    The curd may spoil within 3-4 days as it will get sour if stored for longer duration.

    hi manoj, rashmi has given a very good description about both the products ... in simple language, yogurt is made by technically adding the 2 mentioned bacterias, where as curd is made by just adding a small sample of curd itself, which contains more than 50 bacterias and hence can be made at home.,

    and another fact is , whether or not a company writes it on the label , both curdand yogurt are probiotic products. good for health.

    Both of them are given wonderful information. In addition , Curd & yogurt are milk products. Yogurt results from milk fermentation where it converting substances into acid under anaerobic conditions- whereas coagulation or curdling is treated with their enzymes like edible acid or lemon juice. Lactose ( sugar in milk) turns into lactic acid when it ferments.
    Where curd id fermented by a sample of curd itself or acid vinegar. Make sure yogurt or curd should be in low fat or make it with skimmed milk.

    Health benefits of yogurt & curd :
    *Bacteria in yogurt is good for digestive system & reduce the diarrhea or loose motion. It reduce the risk of vaginal infection.
