Belly fat can be reduced by performing the abdominal exercises alone. This is a fallacy. Not only belly fat looks unappealing but can also be a risk to your health. To cut down the belly fat, one needs to reduce the fat from the overall body. Regular cardiovascular exercises are important to lose the weight from the whole body. It includes walking, running, jogging, cycling etc. Strength training of the abs along with the other major muscle groups is also beneficiary to lose the body fat. Strength or weight training increases the lean body mass and reduces the extra fat stored in the body. Few of the strengthening exercises which are proved to tone up the abs are:-
Long arm crunch - this works on the upper and middle abs
Reverse crunch - it is effective for the lower abs muscles specifically lower part of rectus abdominis
Abs twisters - it works for the oblique or side muscles.
Hip thrust - workout for the lower abs.
Dumbbells side bends- workout for the side muscles.
V- crunches - it works for the overall abs including upper, middle and lower abs.
Hanging leg raises -abdominal stretch and lower abs workout
The progression and intensity of the exercises can be increased by holding the same position for the few counts. Bench, bar, Swiss ball and bosu ball workout is also effective in the later stages of progression.

    Hi Eesha,
Best exercises to lose fat from any part of body is AEROBIC EXERCISES. You can not target particular spot to reduce fat, just work on total body fat percentage to get positive and desired result.

    Hey Eesha,
Ravish is right. You need to first workout on your body fat percentage. Reduce it down to have a better effect of weight training exercises for your abbs. Once your body fat is in control, then you can switch to abbs training exercises.
