    Great article...hill training is the best if one wants to up his stamina..after regular hill runs i run a 20k every sunday!!

    Hello, i am looking for strength and speed. I play highschool basketball, and I am looing for a higher verticle and of course a speed. I run a short hill out side of my house( a grassy hill) wich takes me at a sprint about 7 seconds to get up. I was wondering if it s better to run the hills at slower steady pace for many times or sprint for about 10 of them?

    ya u need to climb slow with ease. Whether you're going up or down, try to maintain the same level of effort and breathing rate that you use on level ground. Don't worry if you're slowing down going up, just reduce stride length accordingly. Continue to shorten ur stride when the hill is steeper, and extend to normal as the grade eases, all the while maintaining steady effort and breathing. u ll pound ur legs if u over exert n u ll end up feeling out of breathe.wen u climb up or down keep ur upper body relaxed n back straight
