Training is essential and important if you plan to run five kilometers. Without training you will not complete the entire course. Training helps you build up stamina along with the right kind of foods. You require strength training to be able to carry yourself over this long distance without any fatigue midway. It's wise to start training by covering small distances first and see how you cope and slowly increase your distance slowly and steadily till you reach your target of five kilometers. Training gives you breathe control and won't leave you panting after a few meters. It helps to strengthen your cardiovascular system that helps pump oxygen to your lungs.

    Hey Bhavana,
Ruchi is right. You have to train your stamina your body for a 5 k run as its a big distance to cover. You have to start slow and improve your stamina first. Keep your posture well to avoid any injuries. Wear proper foot wear.
