Eye exercises have been documented to improve a wide range of conditions including ocular motility disorders, accommodative dysfunction, learning disabilities, dyslexia,myopia, motion sickness, sports performance, visual field defects, visual acuity, and general well-being. Eye exercising keep eyes healthy and help minimize eyestrain.Some of the simple eye exercises are:
1.Close your eyes tightly for few seconds and Open them.Repeat 10 times.
2. Close your eye and massage them with circular movements of your fingers in clockwise and anticlockwise for 1-2 minutes. Make sure you don't press your eye ball hard.Your touch should be soft and soothing.
3.Position yourself relaxingly and roll your eyes clockwise and then anti-clockwise. Repeat 5 times, blinking in between each time.
4.Focus on a distant object 30-40 meters for 10-15 seconds.Then, slowly refocus your eyes on other object without moving your head. Focus for again for 10-15 seconds, and go back to the distant object. Do this 5 times.
5.Hold a pen in front of you at arm's length. Move your arm slowly to your nose. Follow the pen with your eyes until you can keep it in focus. Repeat 10 times.
6.Pendulum exercise, tie an object to a hanging light string and swing it to and fro while you try to keep the object in focus ,avoid moving your head.
7. Look in to the mirror and focus on your eye balls.Now do some rhythmic eye ball movements like up-down, right -left, diagonal movements etc.
8.Always finish up with eye relaxation like massaging your eyes.
