Its wrong to control your breath while running. Controlling breath can lead to easy fatigability and decrement your performance. When you are running your lower limb muscles are active and demand more and more oxygen so as to genarate more ATP which fuels the running. Proper breathing is must to continue longer and efficient run.

    Hi Bhavya,
It is really not good to control your breathe while running.. Controlling breath can lead to early fatigability and may reduce your performance level. Being an intense exercise it requires more oxygen and proper breathing allows more oxygen to enter into lungs and muscles. You should do cadence breathing, 3-4 steps inhale, then next 3-4 steps exhale.Avoid protracting of shoulders while running, expand your chest and shoulders to increase the air entry into lungs.Start slow by doing just a brisk walk or low intensity mild exercises and gradually increase your pace.Proper breathing is must to continue longer and efficient run.
