Hi Deeksha,
Facial paralysis is a dysfunction of cranial nerve VII (the facial nerve) that results in inability to control facial muscles on the affected side. Majority of cases responds very well to exercises. Some of the effective facial exercises are:
1.Close your eyes tightly, hold for a count of 10 and then relax. Repeat 10 times.
2.Purse your lips tightly and try to fill air within your mouth, hold for 10 seconds and slowly blow out. You can also try this with water.
3.Blowing balloons, candles, etc. can be a good facial workout.
4.Chewing gums can be good exercises for the muscles of mastication.
5.Widely open your mouth forming "o", maintain this position and try to smile with the corners of the mouth moving towards cheeks.
6.Stand in front of mirror and make faces with different expressions.
7.Massage gently with your finger tips in circular pattern from inwards to outwards direction. This will improve blood circulation and tone your facial muscles.
