After a heavy meal one starts feeling lazy because all the energy of the body is guided towards the digestion of food which is very important. So exercise after big meal is a big "no" because it will alter with the digestion of the food and can cause indigestion and other gastrointestinal problems as the energy is not used for weight loss. More ever weight loss workouts or crunches can lead to painful stomach cramps sometimes. One also feels heavy and so cannot workout with that ease so it's always better to workout 2-3 hours after a big meal for optimum results.

    Hi Niharika,
If you are talking of exercising immediately after heavy meals then you should not do that. As this could hinder your digestive system. Wait until 2 hours or more to digest the meals. Best to exercise before meals as you wont feel lazy and you can put more effort in calorie burning.
