Staph is a serious problem; it can be as small as a boil or pimple and as big as an abscess. The best way to avoid contracting staph is by maintaining your personal cleanliness. After your workout never touch your face before washing your hands. Make sure you have a warm or hot water shower after your work out, this not only refreshes you but also keeps you clean. Change your hand towels, socks and gym clothes everyday do not reuse without wash. You could probably ask your gym coordinator to have hygiene classes for the members. This will help in spreading some awareness.
