what is an average water intake in a day for an adult. is too much of drinking water bad for health

    I'm not sure if you are familiar with the new science on this. Dr. Robert O. Young is one of the key proponents of the Alkaline diet movement. I've been studying it for 35 years now - since my pre-med days in university. One thing is perfectly clear now. nearly all diseases begin with a state of acidosis.

    The body is an amazing device. If I had room here I could type a book of data for you. But in the interest of brevity, I'll just touch on the main points. The body likes to balance itself at a pH of 7.365. When you drink something like say... a can of coke, you are drinking a fluid with a pH of 3.2! This is pretty close to battery acid! So, while the first few cans of coke won't kill you, they start the transition to ill health.

    Your body wants to balance your loss of alkalinity - so is draws calcium and magnesium from your bones in order to buffer the acidity. And that works great for a while. But the problem is that the standard western diet is much too acidic for the body to win this battle. So what happens is that once the body has taken all of the minerals it can from your bones, it then stores the acid in fatty tissue. If you don't have any, your body will make it. This is why you have some people who really don't eat much but remain fat. They complain bitterly about being fat and how unfair it is that skinny people can eat tens times as much and not gain weight.

    If you do NOTHING ELSE but start drinking high alkaline water, you will lose the fat and you will stop losing bone mass and you will no longer be heading toward osteoporosis and arthritis. Your body will remain in a healthy condition and your cells won't adopt a cancerous behavior or condition.

    I love my food! I did nothing more than put Hunzana pH drops into every glass of water I drank, and you would not believe the health benefits I experienced with just 48 hours. I lost three inches on my waistline over the weekend. I suspect that the high alkaline water dowsed the internal inflammation that was happening.

    Having said that, you must consume enough high pH water to do the job. That is about 1 liter per 50 pounds of body weight. Dr. Young recommends more, but I just can't get that much water into me. I drink 4 or 5 liters per day now. I am not going to make all kinds of wild claims. The FDA and Big Pharma are scared enough about this. If you and I get healthy, and tell others who end up getting healthy, then big pharma loses billions of dollars in drug sales. So expect to find lots of "hired guns" from big pharma to be trying to dowse this flame.

    In the end, talk to real people who have experienced real benefits! Search for Hunzana pH drops and get hold of some. I found it easily and it was dirt cheap.

    Yes.. I probably talk too much! I was shocked by how much water one really needs to drink. I am almost drowning on 7 liters a day now. But the weight is just dropping off - sometimes at a pound a day! The real secret was the alkalinity.

    i didint know that, one should drink this much of water a day. i drink a lot of water nowadays i.e 6 L a day and so many theories were told by my friends. they say drinking lot of water is not good for the kidneys etc etc.
    one more question.Does drinking excess water make any negative impact to the system?

    The water is only bad if you have too much garbage in it. I had our town system tested. It had lead, arsenic, aluminum and loads of other stuff in it. If you then turn around and drink a lot of that, it would not be good. Best to have your water tested at a lab. I found an artesian well near my home and I get ten 5-gallon bottles per ten days.     The Institute of Medicine advises that men consume roughly 3.0 liters (about 13 cups) of total beverages a day and women consume 2.2 liters (about 9 cups) of total beverages a day, meaning this includes your daily intake of tea/coffee/fruit juices/soups etc.!

    Drink that glass of water even when you are not thirsty. It's the best alternative to all things aerated and better than a glass of fruit juice too!

    Although uncommon, it is possible to drink too much water. When your kidneys are unable to excrete the excess water, the electrolyte (mineral) content of the blood is diluted, resulting in low sodium levels in the blood, a condition called hyponatremia. Endurance athletes, such as marathon runners, who drink large amounts of water, are at higher risk of hyponatremia. In general, though, drinking too much water is rare in healthy adults.

    If you're concerned about your fluid intake, check with your doctor or a dietitian. He or she can help you determine the amount of water that's best for you.

    Yes... I imagine the "Institute of Medicine" would say that. They run clinical trials for big pharma and they have to protect that revenue stream. Anytime something comes along that threatens to disturb big pharma's control on the disease business, then they will react swiftly.     You have to remember, big pharma spent over $30 billion dollars last year alone just making sure that their system prevails. I would guess that they have an army of people who's full time job it is just to work the internet and to vilify those who offer alternative therapies. You may be one of them for all I know? You can spot them easily though because they will first attack the concept then quickly move to attacking the credibility of those delivering the message. They will not debate the facts.

    I am one who is speaking from experience with disease. I will debate any big pharma pawn any time.

    As far was water goes, you should remember that you lose 3 litres of water per day just in your breathing. If you add exercise, sweating, and strenuous activity to that, then you can easily be down 4 or 5 liters.

    Regarding salt, you are correct... IF people don't consume salt. But try to find a food source that doesn't nave excess sodium! It would be very difficult to deplete your sodium levels.

    u have to drink arod 2.5 lit of water on avg. per day, and if u r working out u have to take max. of 4lit of water per day, and water can b taken as regularly u want but check d out put also , intake and out put has to b good
