What is Bikram Yoga? I have never heard of it before. I just searched it online and most people seem to agree that there is no significant pitfall for this type of yoga. Of course, this depends from person to person and one cannot say for sure that you will not experience any problems. Since the room is heated to an extent some people might experience dizziness and nausea. However, a little rest and water should cure this problem and it is nothing to be worried about. Apparently the benefits of this type of yoga far outweigh de-merits. Good Luck

    Hi Rashmi,
Bikram yoga is also known as Hot yoga. It is performed in a room temperature of 105 degree F and humidity level 50% and it involves 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises in 90 minutes. Bikram yoga is considered good for fat loss and the rationale behind it is increase in metabolic rate which leads to burn fat thereby weight loss. I am not clear with the effectiveness of Bikram yoga, and I feel weight loss seen might be because of dehydration and not the fat loss. Thus, their is danger of dehydration and other related disorders.

    Hey Rashmi,
Bikram yoga is done in hot climate in open place where you get direct sunlight or room with controlled temperature and you sweat a lot. The funda is to reduce fat from body and to remove harmful toxins through sweat and so can have a fat loss along with healthy skin. So if you love yoga then you can try Bikram yoga.
