That depends on you. You have to split your cardio and strength training exercises equally if you want to be able to do proper strength training. There is no specific time period that you have to follow during your twelve weeks. What works for you might not work for someone else and you have to figure out exactly what your body requires and set a timetable accordingly. Or you can check with a fitness expert and see what he says. He will be able to guide you in the right path and make sure that you get enough exercise. Cheers!
Hi Nandita, It depends on various factors like at what stage you are i.e beginners stage, intermediate stage or advance stage; then whats your goal; intensity and volume of your workout; your bodily response to particular exercises, diet etc. need to be considered. It is important to note that improvement in strength or muscle mass takes place mainly in recovery period so make sure you give proper rest time to recover from exercise stress and prevent over training and related injuries.

Hey Nandita........... The duration of strength training in your 12 weeks exercise plan would totally depend on your present fitness level, endurance, weight, age, etc. So based on that you may decide on duration of strength training exercises. Generally, alternate days of weight training is suggested along with cardio training exercises.
