One should drink lots of fluids so that you don't get dehydrated and avoid milk and milk products, strong tea or coffee.Try to stay on the more bland foods that have a baser PH which are more easy to digest. Avoid anything that will give you gas or make you burp (like pulses, grams, oily and flavoured foods. The ginger is helpful too as it has a calming effect on the stomach.
Get plenty of rest and if you continue to have diarrhea for more than just today or if you notice anything even more unpleasant (like blood in stool or vomit) go see a doctor. Food Poisoning usually passes fairly quickly but can be more serious depending on what virus/bacteria has caused it so just keep an eye on yourself and go see a doctor if you start feeling worse or notice anything unusual.

After food poisoning you can do the following things-
    * Don't eat solid foods until the diarrhea has passed, and avoid dairy products, which can worsen diarrhea due to a temporary state of lactose intolerance.
    * Drink any fluid except milk or caffeinated beverages to replace fluids lost by diarrhea and vomiting.
    * Give children an electrolyte solution sold in drugstores.
