What time is the right time to hv Dinner & its impact on weight gain...???

Hi,
What is the ideal time to have dinner [wt is the approximate time GAP before go to bed] and its influence on Weight Management....???

    As far as I have heard, the ideal dinner time should be 2-3 hours before going to bed as this gives time for the body to digest the same. If you go to sleep right after dinner time then there are going to some digestion problem as metabolism slows down while you are asleep.

    Hi Anil,

    Even i have heard that a minimum of 2 - 2.5 hrs gap should be there between ur last meal and ur sleep timings. So i think anytime between 8 - 8:30pm should be ideal. I had read somewhere that it is said so because our metabolism will be quite low by the end of the day (even that must be tired workin the whole day). So as much as we delay it, it becomes that difficult for our body to digest it.

    before 7.30pm oprah swears by it. dinner before 7.30 n nothing after that is all it takes to weight loss. iam doing so n looks like its working

    yes oprah winfrey. Well the changes in me have just been noticable my clothes are fitting me better and iam loosing 1 pound per week. I strongly feel that its becuase of the timing of my dinner. However any significant progress i will keep u updated.

    Along with the time, quantity and quality of food is equally important. Prefer to have light dinner. Have more of whole grains, then just making the dinner heavy with rice, non-veg or heavy dals like rajma and chole. Once in while its is fair to have but don't make it on regular basis, specially those looking for weight loss.

    Aparupa is right, time, qty & quality is important. IN addition, dinner should be easily digestible foods, less salt, less spicy & healthy foods. After ur dinner also you can go for walking for 15-20mins- This will help you to increase digestion, metabolism, gives sound sleep & improves bowel movement very easily(avoids constipation). & also drink warm water with lemon after ur dinner or after ur walk.
