the best thing to maintain weight in person with hypothyroidism is to take regular medication, as th best way is to keepo the hormones near their normal expected levels. once the medication part is regular , you should also follow some dietary guideline like avoid soyabean, cabbage, spinach, brocolli, turnips , as these are goitrogenic foods. and try to exercise regularly. and eat healthy food , avoiding all extra calories.

Fresh, unprocessed foods are the best bet for a healthier thyroid. Choose foods rich in protein, calcium and vitamins A, B and C. Foods that have high amounts of protein include fish, eggs, cheese, nuts, peanut butter and lean meats. For calcium, choose salmon, spinach, almonds and dairy products such as milk, cheese and yogurt. Foods rich in vitamin A include yellow and orange vegetables, eggs and dark greens. Whole, unprocessed foods such as bananas, potatoes, beans and lentils are good sources of B vitamins. To get your daily dose of vitamin C, reach for broccoli, strawberries, cauliflower, kale, bell peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, asparagus, oranges, kiwi or pineapple.

    Hi

Hypothyroidism slows your digestive system down significantly, and most hypothyroid patients suffer from chronic constipation as a result. This build up of fecal matter can cause you to retain excessive water weight and experience severe edema. By increasing your fiber, you help your bowels to eliminate waste and cut back on retaining water weight. Be sure to pair your increased fiber with increased water intake so you don't lead to even greater constipation. Water consumption will also flush out your lymphatic system, further helping water retention problems.

Foods that are helpful for the thyroid function are: carrots, spinach , apricots asparagus, olive oil, avocado, sunflower seeds, whole grain cereals, bananas, oily fish, so choose meals that include these foods.

Green tea helps to increase your metabolism therefore helping you to lose weight.
